LIVE from the Lectora User Conference: Keynote Sandy Carter

Sandy Carter kicked off day two of the 2012 Lectora® User Conference with her incredible keynote presentation, “Get Bold! Creating a Social Business Agenda!.” The IBM Vice President had the audience fully engaged as she shared her expert insights on social business and social media for learning and every attendee received a free copy of Sandy’s book.

“Social impacts the way we live and work everyday,” said Carter. She expressed how social is not only a way to engage with learners and employees, but also a way to gain trust. In a recent study, Sandy explained how over 80 percent of learners trust CEOs and top company executives if they are fully engaged on their social networks.

“It is too risky not to engage in social,” Carter said. Social is a way to interact internally to brainstorm new ideas, share expertise and teach skills to fellow employees. Sandy expressed that people within an organization learn better from their own peers. Social networks makes it possible to share your ideas and expertise to help in professional growth within your company.
